Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using any journal website of Tasman Journals (”The Company”) (tasmanjournals.com) or uploading a manuscript to any Journal published by Tasman Journals for publication. You agree that your access to and use of The Company’s services is conditional on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions apply to all visitors, authors, or subscribers who access or use the service. If you disagree with any part of these Terms and Conditions then you must not make use of the publishing services provided by Tasman Journals.
Tasman Journals is a publisher of academic journals. The Company exists to receive, review and decide on whether to publish or not publish in an on-line format papers submitted by academic authors following a process of third-party review via Manuscript Manager (www.manuscriptmanager.com) or, for shorter articles, by the editorial office, at the Company’s sole discretion. Following a positive decision and payment of the required fee, Tasman Journals will publish the paper in question on-line. Published papers will be open in advance of the publication date to subscribers, and after the publication date, to the general public. All Journals will be in the English language. Tasman Journals is registered in Australia and domiciled in the State of Western Australia. It operates under the law of Western Australia or if applicable of the Commonwealth of Australia. Reference to Tasman Journals in these Terms and Conditions applies also to the journals published under its imprint.
Subscribers and authors including co-authors will be required to divulge personal information deemed by The Company to be the minimum relevant to the publication of papers in an academic journal by way of review editing amendment proof-reading and payment of fees (in the case of authors) or the supply of relevant information to allow communication with subscribers. Members of the public visiting the public pages of the Tasman Journals web site or of the websites of individual Journals will not be required to provide personal information or pay fees. Subscribers and authors including co-authors agree that their information may be stored by Tasman Journals, and Tasman Journals agrees to provide users of all details stored in their name on request. Tasman Journals shall not provide personal information to any third party unless required to do so under the laws of Western Australia or the Commonwealth of Australia.
By submitting their manuscripts, authors are deemed to have declared that the work is original and has not been submitted previously or concurrently to any other journal. They further are deemed to declare that no author has laboured under a conflict of interest and will be required to sign a declaration to that effect. If ethical approval for research work submitted for publication is required under Australian standards (https://www.nhmrc.gov.au/about-us/publications/national-statement-ethical-conduct-human-research), authors agree to provide evidence that such approval has been obtained. The Company for its part will take active steps to detect plagiarism or fraud affecting submitted papers. Papers affected by such processes will not be accepted for publication or removed from the publication record.
Authors agree that the decision on whether or not a manuscript should be accepted for publication is ultimately a matter for Tasman Journals at its sole discretion. Authors also agree that the system of peer review via Manuscript Manager or via the editorial office is sufficient to ensure that a decision made after their application is fair and reasonable and further agree to abide by The Company’s decision.
Tasman Journals uses links to third-party web sites for reviewing and billing purposes. The Company does not own these websites and assumes no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of third party web sites or services it uses. Tasman Journals knows of no reason for apprehension in these regards but shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any loss or damage caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with use of, or reliance on, any such content, goods or services available on or through linked web sites or services.
Users of Tasman Journals websites for the purposes stated above agree to the use of cookies required for essential operation of the websites. Tasman Journals agrees to not use cookies for any purpose other than the essential operation of its websites.
Authors agree to transfer in writing all rights in or arising from papers accepted for publication to Tasman Journals. Tasman Journals will not restrict the right of authors to publicise or disseminate their work to academics academic bodies or the Press (including social media).
Authors agree to receive and consider requests from The Company that they act as a reviewer for Tasman Journals.
Because The Company’s fee structure reflects the costs of manuscript management and consideration, fees paid after a manuscript has been accepted for publication will not be returnable.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. If a revision is material to the publication of academic papers generally or to authors with a manuscript in current review we will provide a minimum of 30 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
